Dear Ones,
Thank you for your inquiry into studying T'ai Chi Ch'uan. This is a brief introduction for understanding our discipline.
Classes for Beginners open periodically as my schedule permits, since they form a new ongoing study group that receives a great deal of personal attention and instruction.
Our caring and individualized approach allows each student the necessary personal attention to master this art at his or her rate of understanding. As you begin your studies, your training continues weekly through the Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced stages of your personal development. T'ai Chi Taoist Philosophies are explained thoroughly, giving each student the understanding to grasp the deeper meditative and healing aspects of Body/Mind/Spirit working in Harmony.
We use Posture, Movement, Breathing, Meditation, Mind, and Conscious Intent to refine the life energy, gather and accumulate it, and circulate it to wherever it is needed. Balance, Coordination, Flexibility, Calmness, and Mental Alertness increase by utilizing this process.
Our center is the only one of its kind, offering you this Total Approach to learning the Complete Kuang Ping Long Form of T'ai Chi Ch'uan and Qi Gong that is patterned on the "old style" training, as developed by the Chen Family tradition.
At Tilopa Tai Chi Center we never rush. It is my sincere wish to honor the integrity and deeper science and life principles as they have been taught to me by the Grand Masters. At Tilopa Tai Chi Center, we are dedicated to the old and careful training methods of the Masters, to attune each individual to this highly detailed and integral approach where we force nothing, yet leave nothing undone so that we may understand and fully live the inner aspects and philosophies of the T'ai Chi Ch'uan and Qi Gong.
The physical, mental, and spiritual health benefits of T'ai Chi come from daily practice and a thorough understanding of the movements. At Tilopa Tai Chi Center we know that learning slowly takes patience... and we teach in this style as well, patiently... with mutual respect.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing to class. Tea is served at the close of our lessons together. If there are any special needs, please do not hesitate to call me.
Sincerely,
Marilyn Allysum
